Day of Suffering was a hardline metalcore band from Wilmington, North Carolina, active from 1993—1997. Lyrical themes included animal rights, drug-free philosophy, and radical Islam. Initially known as Failing Down, they recorded an EP 'Life Before Machine' (1995) and one album 'The Eternal Jihad' (1997) for Catalyst Records.
