Canadian classic rock band. Major Hoople's Boarding House was created in Cambridge, ON in 1967. Originally started as a college group, the "Shan-de-leers", the group acquired permission from the comic strip Our Boarding House (starring Major Hoople) to use the name for their band in 1967.
