He was a former member (lead guitarist) of the 60s cult band 'Rupert's People'. They famously sang 'Reflection of Charle Brown.' He received his only and first guitar lesson from Davie Davies of the Kinks! Since they disbanded Rod has palyed with John Lennon amongst other musicians.
